July/August 2010 Update

posted by Angela on August 16, 2010 at 12:41:56

It has been a while since the last update, but it has been so busy lately.

Believe it or not the summer is winding to a close. Most weekends were spent at Kimberly’s Nanny’s neighborhood pool, at local parks, visiting with friends, and/or indoors in order to beat the Louisiana heat. We are all looking forward to the “fall”, so that more activities can be spent in the great outdoors, and of course fall brings LSU Football!

Kimberly is continuing to grow and develop. Every day she makes George and I laugh at something she says or does. Recently she cracked us up by demonstrating her “mad” dancing skills when we put the TV on the Toddler Music Channel. She was dancing in the middle of the living room! I guess only time will tell though if she has her Momma’s rhythm (or lack thereof) or her Daddy’s.

Her vocabulary is expanding by leaps and bounds, which will only continue to grow now that she has moved up to the toddler room at daycare. She now says: animal cracker, cheese please, ice in it (she loves ice in her water), all gone bye –bye, fish (goldfish), bubbles, back (float on her back in the pool/tub), snack cup, night night, love you, etc… And this past weekend Kimberly was taking a bath and in the cutest little voice said, “1…2…3…4…5”, clapped, and said “all done”. She is growing up way too fast for our liking!

Kimberly is showing that she has quite a sense of humor too. One of her favorite things to do is offer George and I some of her food. When we go to take a bite of it, with a twinkle in her eye, she pulls it away and eats it herself. She then says, “stinker, stinker, stinker”, with a huge smile on her face. I guess this means we call her a stinker a bunch.

In early August Kimberly took a vacation to Florida with Grandma, Grandpa and Unc, while George and I flew up to DC for a wedding. She got to go to the beach, Gulfarium, and swam until she was exhausted. Apparently she does not like sand on her feet, because she kept telling Grandma, “off” to the sand on her feet. She loved to watch the dolphins jumping at the Gulfarium, but from what George and I understand her favorite part of the Gulfarium was her first Icee.

Now that our family has all returned from our vacation, we are slowly trying to get back into the swing of things. We are looking forward to the football season, even though we sold our tickets, continuing to work on the shed/office, and spending time as a family.

More news to come…
