Movement!

This past week marked month 4 of my pregnancy. I am currently 17 weeks and 1 day. It is amazing at how fast this pregnancy is going along. Before we all know it it will be October and Little Eldredge will be making his/her appearance. This week I felt the baby moving for the first time!!!! The first time was this past Sunday. I was taking a bath and I felt what I would describe as a little tickle in my tummy! Maybe this means that the baby will be as fond of baths as his/her mother is! Then through out the week I kept feeling little flutters/tickles. I can't wait until the movements are more distinct and for George to be able to feel him/her move!
Yesterday was the first day that I thought I looked and felt pregnant. My stomach has started to round out a little, instead of looking like I have a little pooch. I am starting to have trouble bending at the waist. Also, I find that I am much more emotional then normal. In fact a couple of weeks ago, George and I were watching something on TV. He turned to look at me and I had tears running down my face! My body is not my own anymore!!!
Also, I find that I am starting to get my energy back. I find I am not as tired as I was in the first trimester. I was able to work out 4 times this week, which helps to relieve stress and helps me sleep better at night. I am also hoping that by working out I can prevent excess weight gain and help me during the delivery.
This month George and I signed up for a childbirth class that will take place over 3 weekends in July and August. Hopefully we will learn some good techniques that will help us have a natural childbirth.
It has been fun to listen to participants at work guess what I am having or give their opinion on something regarding the baby. One thinks we are having a girl because I am carrying the baby "high". Another lady thinks I "need" to have a little girl because every mother needs a daughter. Another thinks I am having a baby with a lot of hair because I am starting to suffer from heartburn already. And I am sure I will hear more of this in the months to come. I guess we will have to wait until October to find out if any of these "theories" are true.
This coming Wednesday I go for my 4 week checkup at the OB. Hopefully I will be right on target as far as growth, weight, etc... It is at this appointment that we get to schedule the 20 week ultrasound! We can't wait to see how much our baby has developed in the 8 weeks since the last ultrasound! We will keep you all posted.
