Alive and well!

We made it through Hurricane Gustav with me having only one break down emotionally. This occured when I was told that our power might not be back on for another 14-21 days. However, we got power back this past Sunday. We have never been more thankful to sleep in our own bed as we were Monday night. Enough complaining: George and I were one of lucky ones in Baton Rouge and had no damage to our house. We did lose a portion of our privacy fence and our mail box, but those needed replacing...

We're alive and well, with no damage to person or property. The power is out, so we're "roughing it" at my parents' house - where the generator is powering the a/c. Angela is doing well, though very anxious to return to a powered home.

Office baby shower and more...

Today I realized how lucky I am. I work with a bunch of ladies who braved the nasty weather to come to my first baby shower. The shower was hosted by Dawn and Valery. I was over whelmed by all of the gifts that I got. Just to name a some: diaper bag, newborn diapers, sleep sacks, booster seat, frog hooded towel, frog bath robe, and several onesies. George and I are amazed at how tiny all the clothing is and find it hard to believe that we are going to be responsible for something so small. ...
